Would you like us to review your published game or preview your crowd-funding project? If so, please read our Game Reviews/Previews Policy below.
Please use the form on this page to contact us regarding any requests, questions, feedback, etc. We will respond to you as soon as we can. Thanks!
What types of games do you review/preview?
We love games. Period. If you think that we will love your game too, please feel free to reach out to us with some information about your game and what we can help you with. While we love all games, our time and expertise limits us in what we can take on for review. For the time being, games we are most likely to pass on include:
- Print n Plays with extensive setup required;
- Role-playing games (tabletop, LARP, etc);
- Traditional War Games;
- New collectible card games;
- Video games and apps;
- New miniatures game systems (board games with miniatures are ok); and
- Party/drinking games.
These categories are not all inclusive so please feel free to reach out to us for more information.
What is your policy for reviewing published games?
While a majority of our reviewed games come from our personal collections we do accept/receive review copies of games from publishers. Regardless of the source we will always provide objective reviews, free of bias and/or preferential treatment.
As of now, we do not charge a fee for game reviews. Please provide a copy of the game (that will not be returned) along with the time frame in which you would like the review posted. We ask that you please allow at least 2-4 weeks for us to properly play/analyze the game, write our review and post it. Timing of our completed reviews will be dependent on a number of factors including: current workload, complexity of the game, personal commitments, etc. A completed review will be posted to The League of Nonsensical Gamers site, Board Game Geek and all of our social media outlets. We may also choose to discuss the game on our weekly podcast – The Podcast of Nonsensical Gamers.
Feel free to contact us with any questions or inquiries.
What is your policy for previewing crowd-funding games?
Crowd-funding has become a viable alternative for new designers to pursue their dreams of having a game published and provided to fans of the hobby. The League of Nonsensical Gamers fully supports such endeavors and is happy to preview new and exciting crowd-funding projects.
When contacting us regarding a preview, we ask that you provide a brief description of the game (including mechanics, theme, etc), a scheduled campaign launch date and any other additional relevant information (website, rulebook, videos, etc). A draft campaign or BGG page are always helpful as well. We do not guarantee that by contacting us your project will be selected for preview. A number of factors will go into our decision including time constraints, resources, interest in the game, etc. We will contact you with our decision either way.
If selected for preview, we ask that you please provide a fully playable prototype at minimum 3-4 weeks prior to the launch of your campaign. This will allow us enough time to sufficiently play/analyze the game and have our written review completed by the time your campaign launches (or shortly thereafter). We do not typically return/forward prototypes but if you would like your game returned/forwarded we ask that you pay the shipping fees.
As of now, we do not charge a fee for previews. We do ask that if you like the preview, that you please post a link to our site in the reviews section of your campaign page.
Feel free to contact us with any questions or inquiries.
